Artist Statement
Art gives me a way in which to express my quirky personality, to give people who may not know me a sense of who I am through the work I create. For my work, I take a basic idea or thing, like fruit, and add my own creative flair to it. This is what allows me to express my individuality through humor and absurdity, and what differentiates myself from other artists. This process of working with a basic idea and then personalizing it holds true for whatever medium I work with, as I tend to make mixed-media or video projects as often as I do photography.
I don’t seek to inspire people with my art as much as force them to look at something in a way in which they might not have before, like seeing my pictures of fruit and silently thinking, “Hehe, that guy is silly, fruits don’t have faces”. Everyone needs a bit of immaturity in their life anyway. I don’t really care if you like my art or not, I just hope that it amuses you.
